The challenges of scaling enterprise level applications

It's interesting to hear about the technology problems that most people don't get to experience working with. Enterprise scale application distribution is hard.

I've been fortunate enough to work on similar scale problems at Experts Exchange during the early days of cloud migrations. Load balancing applications, pre-warming caches, and ensuring local resources are available can be quite challenging.
